After more than 20 years building advanced offensive and defensive teams, teaching cybersecurity at the Master level, and working with organizations in Mexico, the United States, and Latin America, I have seen the same challenge many times: people work very hard on technical skills and some soft skills, yet they still struggle to reach the roles or goals they want.

The problem is not their ability. The problem is the mindset we learn in the industry.

The cybersecurity career path especially in Mexico and other emerging markets does not always match what we see in the U.S. or Europe. Roles are different, responsibilities change quickly, and many talented people get stuck because they are following a “career map/pathway” that does not reflect reality.

This talk is about hacking that map.

It is a hack for how we think about our careers as hackers.
